3 ways to teach yourself a chapter
Reading and rewriting are not the only self learning techniques. Gaining in-depth clarity on concepts will help you remember chapter better.
The best way to know how well you have studied is to ask questions to yourself! When self-learning, tests are a great way to evaluate what you know, what you don’t remember and what you need to revisit again.
Say it Aloud
Read the chapter out to yourself twice. Then close the textbook and try and explain it to yourself in front of a mirror. The more you practice speaking in your own words, the better you will be able to explain it on paper later!
Imagine and visualize
Describing a concept requires creativity, and that needs more information than just textbooks! Search for examples and videos online, and compare it to what you have learnt. Pick that example that helps you remember better- it’s a study tip you will swear by!
Take pop-quizzes
One study method is to break down every chapter into smaller parts and list down as many questions as possible for that. This will give you a different view and you can use them as quizzes for quick revision! Play around by making cue-cards, play KBC with friends or get your parents for a rapid fire.
Learning doesn’t have to mean staying up all night or scouting for study-tips all day! It can be as simple as getting the right educational app that solves all your study worries.
